Johannesburg Executive Mayor, Dada Morero, has recently gave an update on the proposed increases for service charges for Joburg prepaid electricity users, reported BusinessTech on 28 March 2025. According to the report, prepaid electricity users in Johannesburg were expected to pay more for service charges. However, Morero has announced that the City Power tariff, 2025/2026 budget and Draft Property Rates report have been withdrawn. Instead, new proposals have been put forward.
