Should the future of Harborplace include residential properties? That's the question one ballot amendment wants to put before Baltimore voters in November. Last month, a circuit court judge deemed the question unconstitutional. Both sides appealed their cases before the Supreme Court of Maryland on Wednesday. The State Board of Elections argued that the decision to invalidate the question this late in the process eroded confidence in the election system. "There are two different claims in this suit.

Harford County's superintendent has three key areas he's focusing on this year. The three priorities of Superintendent Sean Bulson are academic rigor, workforce development and special education. Like many other central Maryland school districts, Harford County is seeing more children who need special education. Bulson said he considers this one of the greatest challenges for his district. "Particularly the youngest grades," Bulson said.

The budget battle continues in Cecil County. Cecil County Executive Danielle Hornberger called out the superintendent of Cecil County Public Schools, saying he needs to step up to the plate and stop stoking fears surrounding potential program cuts as they work out next year's budget. Hornberger presented her budget earlier this week, including $97.5 million for school funding.
