A group of quick-thinking good Samaritans rescued three middle-aged women Sunday morning after their car went over the edge of the St. Peter’s Square parking lot, dropping 15-20 feet into Gloucester Harbor Cove. Two off-duty firefighters witnessed the crash, and one immediately jumped into the water to help. Several local fishermen and other bystanders joined him to get the women out of the car, which was partially submerged as it was low tide.
