The two suspects went to the graduation together on June 3 at the United Wholesale Mortgage campus, where they allegedly got into a brawl with others but did not fire any rounds. Redford Township police said a suspect accused of shooting 20 rounds at prominent Detroit rapper Skilla Baby was taken into custody. Skilla Baby was shot three times. His injuries were nonfatal. Police are seeking a felony weapons charge against the suspect after a firearm was recovered from his home.

Thor, a Michigan State Police K9 who was poisoned on the job, has made a full recovery, the agency announced. On May 30, Thor was helping Lapeer County deputies on a breaking and entering call when Thor ingested suspected poison in a barn. He was immediately rushed to Michigan State University's Veterinary Medical Clinic. "Please send paws-itive healing thoughts for a quick recovery," Michigan State Police's third district wrote on social media.

Three seats on the 11-member Board of Police Commissioners — the elected body tasked with oversight of the police — don’t have any candidates on the ballot for the August primary. And there’s no competition for three others, with only one candidate for each seat on the August ballot. The deadline to file to run was April 22.
