Endosymbiosis is theterm used to describe the symbiotic or "special"relationship that exists between plants and nitrogen-fixingbacteria and fungi that live in plant roots.

Fast-forward ten years and a search for gene edited crops lists numerous successful trials, from GABA-enriched tomatoes for better sleep to disease resistant risotto rice.
