Benzotriazole ultraviolet stabilizers (BUVSs) are a class of chemical contaminants that have recently raised concerns among regulatory bodies due to their persistence, bioaccumulation, biomagnification, and toxic characteristics. (1−4) BUVSs are characterized by the presence of a primary benzotriazole moiety attached to a 2-hydroxyphenol group, with significant structural diversity resulting from substituents attached at various positions.
