Earlier this year, Atomfall took us on a weird and wild jaunt through the English countryside. Influenced by classic British speculative fiction, the game imagines a timeline in which the Windscale Disaster took a turn for the worse, creating a quarantine zone for our player character to escape. But British spec-fic is a deep well, so Wicked Isle draws from it for Atomfall’s DLC expansion.

When the first season of The Last of Us arrived on HBO in 2023, fans of the game waited with baited breath to see how this adaptation would go down. And for the most part, it largely triumphed. But for the second season of The Last of Us, showrunners Neil Druckmann (who created the game) and Craig Mazin had their work cut out for them. How to adapt a sequel that polarized many players? Notably, they made the decision to break the second game into three seasons.

British survival game Atomfall will see its first DLC arrive this Tuesday. Entitled Wicked Isle, the extra content will expand the world of the alternate-history version of the Lake District. Atomfall draws inspiration from 1960s and 70s British speculative fiction. And it looks like Wicked Isle will be no different, as the trailer gives off major Wicker Man vibes.

If you’re a big FromSoftware fan, you’ll likely find much of Elden Ring Nightreign familiar. That said, there are some key differences. For one, in Elden Ring Nightreign you’re on the clock. You have three in-game days to level up and defeat the given Nightlord. As such, you’ll want to prioritize certain areas in Limveld over others. Dropped into Limveld courtesy of helpful eagles, you may find it a bit overwhelming at first. Time is ticking. Where to go first? What to put off until you’ve leveled up?

Elden Ring Nightreign is upon us. And players will have to choose between eight Nightfarers to explore the ever-shifting realm of Limveld. Of course, they can switch between any of these characters at the Roundtable Hold, between rounds. So naturally, you’ll want to have all of them playable in this FromSoftware RPG. Only the Duchess and the Revenant require extra steps to unlock, with the Revenant being the trickier of the two.

Gotta love an indie horror game that doesn't look like an indie horror game!
