A dark and gloomy start — unexpected after last year’s strong season — is just waiting to open up and burst. Thursday, that metaphor became real life. After a weather delay of almost two hours Thursday, the gloomy sky cleared and the Eagles shined right with the open skies, expectantly dominating a shorthanded Hillcrest team, who forfeited seven of-11 matches.
