I have an extreme view on amateur athletics. Well before the name, image and likeness (NIL) frenzy began, I hated the thought of money in any non-professional sports. From a few hundred people in Due West to thousands in Omaha to an unthinkable amount in a stadium filled beyond his wildest dreams. Hummel starred at Erskine for five years before a stint at Kentucky.
