He grew up in the Steelton area, playing for Steelton High School and getting a scholarship to play basketball in college at Bloomsburg University. But, he never ended up playing there. YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — Jalen Cook has been an athlete for his entire life and grew up playing football, just like his older brother. He also played basketball during his time at Dallastown Area High School. “My brother played football so I want to follow him,” Cook said. As a senior, Cook joined the Dallastown Track and Field team as a high jumper, and his decision paid off. He originally joined as a way to stay in shape during the football off-season and wanted to participate with his friends.

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Humane World for Animals recently completed an undercover investigation into ivory sales in Pennsylvania and now, lawmakers are using their data to help push House Bill 994, which aims to prohibit the sales of illicit animal products. The investigation found nearly 400 products made with ivory across the Commonwealth including in Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York Counties.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Red Land Senior Center has been in Lewisberry for 50 years and now, the center is looking for a new home. The senior center is currently located at a church-owned building, a building that the center previously tried to buy. But, when the church decided they would no longer be advancing negotiations in November, the senior center decided to go their own way.

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — The Yellow Breeches EMS system has been in South Middleton Township for 30 years but their contract with the township will soon be terminated. The decision was voted on Thursday night and was a 5-0 decision in favor of allowing South Middleton to end the contract. “For quite some time, the township has had serious questions and concerns about Yellow Breeches internal management policies, their long-term financial solvency outlook, said township manager Cory Adams.
