(WHP) — Two people were shot in the downtown Harrisburg area this past weekend just two months after the city told businesses they would no longer be allowed to hire off-duty police officers to patrol the downtown area. One person was shot at 2:15a.m. on Saturday on Second Street and another at 2:45a.m. on Sunday near Cranberry Street. “A lot, again, a lot of the violence and turbulence is created in downtown area due to a number of things,” Mike Hay said, a Harrisburg local.

YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHP) — At least one person was hospitalized just after midnight Saturday morning following a multi-vehicle pile up on I-83 North. According to a social media post from the Glen Rock Hose & Fire Co., officials say they found a truck off the road at mile marker 8.8 jack knifed with one of the occupants pinned in the cab. Crews removed the roof of the truck and were able to free the trapped person in under an hour. They were take to a local trauma center for treatment.

Event staff confirmed the motorcyclist was injured after an inflatable ramp ripped while they were landing. They were taken to a local hospital to be evaluated for injuries. The show then carried on as normal.

Police say the Scion struck another that was traveling through the intersection of Kissel Hill Road and East Sixth Street. The driver reportedly continued to flee south on Kissel Hill Road, then a right onto Swarthmore Drive.
