After being closed for the entire 2024 season, the Steelers-theme Steel Curtain Rollercoaster at Kennywood is reopening. The iconic Pittsburgh amusement park announced Thursday The Steel Curtain will open for the season on May 24. Pennsylvania's tallest coaster was undergoing an "extensive modification project" to "increase ride reliability and longevity."Current Steelers and alumni will join Kennywood staff for an official ribbon cutting to reopen the long-anticipated return of the coaster.
First day of Real ID no issue at Pittsburgh International Airport

Retired Baltimore Ravens Defensive end Terrell Suggs, who played against Roethlisberger for 15 years said. "He got more rings than (Aaron) Rodgers, he got more rings than (Drew) Brees," said Suggs on the Rory & Mal podcast. Workers safe after Public Works truck pulls down power lines in Elliot

Two men inside a Department of Public Works truck are safe after an accident in Elliot Monday afternoon. Department of Public Safety spokesperson Cara Cruz tells KDKA Radio two men were in a DPW truck around 1:40 p.m. at the intersection of Herschel and Kerr Streets when they hit a low-hanging wire, bringing the power lines down. "The wire happened to catch the back of the truck and pulled down a telephone pole," said Cruz.
'Some confusion' at PIT International following TSA security change

There was "Some confusion" at Pittsburgh International Airport on Monday after changes were made with security. Anyone using TSA PreCheck now has to use the main security entrance and can no longer get past security at the alternate checkpoint. All passengers NOT using TSA PreCheck can continue to use the main or alternate checkpoints.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers 1st round draft pick Devin Bush Jr. was arrested on Sunday in Bell Acres. According to court records, Bush is charged with simple assault and harassment after an incident in the town located near Sewickley Heights. The inside linebacker played for the Browns last season and re-signed with Cleveland this past March. The Steelers declined Bush's 5 th-year option and he spent the 2023 season with the Seattle Seahawks before signing with the Browns in 2024.
Thunderstorms moving through Pittsburgh area Friday

Just days after damaging storms came through, knocking out power to hundreds of thousands of people around Western Pennsylvania, a severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for a large part of the area. Allegheny, Washington, Beaver, Butler, Lawrence and Greene Counties are a few of the areas under the watch until 7 p.m. Friday. The National Weather Service says some storms have been developing in western Ohio with up to golf ball-sized hail observed.
