Just like a few days last summer and in 2023, smoke from wildfires burning in Canada can cause hazy skies in Western Pennsylvania the next couple of days. The PA Department of Environmental Protection says smoky skies are possible through the weekend due to out of control wildfires in the providence of Manitoba. The DEP says they are monitoring the smoke and are urging people with respiratory issues to stay aware.

Loretta Swit, the actress best known for playing Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on the popular television series "M*A*S*H" has died. She was 87. Swit's publicist B. Harlan Boll confirmed her passing. Boll tells KDKA Radio he spoke to Swit on Thursday night around 11 p.m. Pacific time. "She was checking in to see how I was doing and to get my new address to mail me something," and Boll, who lost his home in the L.A. wildfires earlier this year.

Over 54 pounds of marijuana was confiscated at Pittsburgh International Airport and a woman faces felony charges. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection says 30-year-old Jetta Monet Corbett of Brockton, Massachusetts was on her way to London, England when the cannabis was found in her luggage. CBP officers found "numerous vacuum-sealed packages inside two black, hard-sided suitcases," on May 24.
