A California agency that oversees labor relations in local and state government is extending its services to the private sector after the Trump administration slashed staff at the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service. The California Public Employment Relations Board has already received requests to take up five cases that would have typically been handled by the federal government, the head of the state mediation service told his board during a hearing April 10.
