The family of a Scottish man found dead in his caravan are now seeking an apology as they claim police brushed off their concerns. John Reddington, from Fife, was found decomposed in his van in Worcestershire after his family had to convince the police to look for him. The 57-year-old's family say they were dismissed by Police Scotland and West Mercia Police after they raised concerns about him, despite stressing he suffered from mental health and alcohol problems, reports the Daily Record.

Glasgow residents are being hit with a 'triple whammy' today as prices increase on rail fares, energy bills and alcohol pricing. Commuters are facing a spike in rail fares as the Scottish Government scraps a nearly year-long trial on off-peak costs on ScotRail trains. The change has seen the price of an anytime return ticket between Glasgow and Edinburgh rise from £16.20 to £31.40 if passengers travel on a ScotRail service before 9.30am or from 4.30-6pm on weekdays.

Former Conservative MP Michael Gove has been announced as the new editor of The Spectator magazine. The Aberdonian replaces fellow Scot Fraser Nelson as the boss of the conservative magazine, which was recently purchased in a multi-million-pound deal by GB News owner Paul Marshall. Gove has previously served in various cabinet positions under four former Prime Ministers - David Cameron, Theresa May, Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak.

Great British Energy will be headquartered in Aberdeen. The UK Government's publicly-owned energy company will have its base in the north east, but will have smaller offices in other parts of Scotland, according to the BBC; including Glasgow and Edinburgh. Keir Starmer is expected to officially announce the HQ location in the coming weeks. It won't supply power to households, but will help fund existing and new clean technology.
