Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office / Keishann Rowe was sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of felony murder and aggravated assault. Evidence presented at a trial late last month showed the jury that Keishann Rowe, 21, Keonte Ragland, 20, Deonna Ragland, 19, and Malachi Housley conspired to murder Jaylon Eberhardt after a series of minor disagreements that led to a physical confrontation between Eberhardt and Keonte Ragland.

Walker County is considering new regulations for the animals of pet owners who habitually strain the county's animal control resources, but some residents are concerned the spay/neuter and microchipping requirements being proposed are government overreach. There are too many unwanted animals in Walker County, Emily Sadler, director of the county's animal shelter, said, and the county's animal control workers and shelter are overwhelmed.

An ethics complaint has been filed against Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood, questioning the veracity of Chitwood's financial disclosures saying he received more than $25,000 from donors giving $100 or less. Candidates are required to list the name and occupation of any campaign contributors above $100, according to state finance rules.
