Talking about the chances of a professional show in Douglas, Mathew said: ‘It’s obvious we’d love to fight there. I think it would be massive for the Isle of Man. In addition to us there’s a couple more pros in the island [Jamie Devine and Jade Burden], plus there’s two amateur gyms too, so it’s definitely doable.

    Jenny Tinmouth at John O'Groats (Jenny Tinmouth Racing)The TT’s fastest ever female competitor undertook a gruelling challenge in memory of one of her former sponsors at the weekend. Jenny Tinmouth, who lapped at 119.945mph in the 2010 event, has raised more than £5,000 for Cancer Research UK by tackling her ‘Longest Day Challenge’ which saw her ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats. It took the Radio TT commentator nearly 26 hours to complete the 980 miles on a £600 Honda.

    The Isle of Man badminton squad for this summer's Island Games (-)The Isle of Man badminton team will be cycling the equivalent of the distance from here to Orkney at the weekend. The squad are undertaking the 350-mile static-bike cycle to help raise funds to support their journey to the 2025 Island Games, which are taking place next month in the Scottish archipelago. They'll be taking on the challenge in the Roundhouse’s café area this Sunday, June 29 from 9am to 6pm.
