    Alcohol beverage company Constellation Brands Inc. will divest several of its “mainstream” wine brands and related vineyards, inventory and facilities to The Wine Group, subject to regulatory approval and closing conditions. Brands included in the deal are Woodbridge, Meiomi, Robert Mondavi Private Selection, Cook’s, Simi and J. Rogét sparkling wine, the release said.

    North, West and South sides unite! According to a news report on WBEZ Chicago, a local startup company called Local Style Potato Chips just launched a line of chips flavored to mimic several Chicago-related delicacies: the Italian beef sandwich, deep dish pizza and the Chicago-style hot dog (NO KETCHUP!). The new line of snacks (which includes a standard, classic salted potato chip variety as well) are available at some 15 local markets and delicatessens.

Bazooka Brands has officially opened its new Ring Pop manufacturing facility in Moosic, Pa. — after being unexpectedly forced to close its Scranton, Pa., plant and find a new home after structural issues forced the closure of the original home for Ring Pop production for 47 years.

    Post Holdings Inc. has announced it will close two cereal processing plants in its Post Consumer Brands division: one in Cobourg, Ont., Canada, and another in Sparks, Nev. The company noted in a news release that these moves reflect Post’s need to reduce cereal production capacity in its network. This is the third cereal plant Post has closed in the past year and a half, having shut down its Lancaster, Ohio, facility last year.

    Nashville, Tenn.-based baker Crown Bakeries will expand its Pleasant Prairie, Wis., facility, adding a new, high-speed bun production line to boost capabilities and capacity there. Crown, which manufactures fresh and frozen croissants, buns, bagels, biscuits, sweet goods, and dough products in nine different facilities across the country, expects the expansion to be fully operational by November 2025.
