    Funcom has delayed the launch of its survival game Dune: Awakening by a month so that it can incorporate more feedback from beta testers, it’s said. Dune was due to launch on PC via Steam on May 20, but this will now be postponed until June 10, with an early access start on June 5, Funcom announced on Tuesday.

    Microsoft’s head of gaming, Phil Spencer, has reiterated his intention to support Nintendo Switch 2 with Xbox game franchises. Switch 2 was fully unveiled earlier this month. Although no Xbox games were present at the unveiling, Xbox is reportedly prepping multiple releases, including Diablo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Activision has also committed to releasing Call of Duty games on Switch 2.

    A Minecraft Movie’s popularity at the global box office continued in its second weekend, with the Jack Black-helmed film clearing $550.6m worldwide. Of that figure, $269.6M was from outside the US, according to Deadline. Overall, A Minecraft Movie is tracking ahead of the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (+229%), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (+76%), Sonic 3 (+75%), and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (+71%). Minecraft also appears to be ahead of The Super Mario Bros.

    The Season 2 premiere of HBO’s The Last of Us series outpaced Season 1’s by 10% on Sunday, according to the network. The second season debuted this weekend, with the first episode being broadcast in the US on Sunday night. In the UK, the show was simulcast at 2 am on Monday on Sky Atlantic. In the US, the episode reached 5.3 million “same-day cross-platform viewers”, according to HBO (via Deadline), beating the 4.7 million of Season 1’s premiere.

    4A Games has made the first-person shooter Metro 2033 free for 48 hours, to celebrate the series’ 15th anniversary. The 2010 FPS instalment will be free to download on Steam, GOG, and Xbox, for the next 48 hours, until April 16 at 5 PM CET / 9 AM PT. “Thank you for the years of passion and love you have shown us so far,” the studio said, alongside a celebratory video acknowledging its community of fans.
