Funcom has delayed the launch of its survival game Dune: Awakening by a month so that it can incorporate more feedback from beta testers, it’s said. Dune was due to launch on PC via Steam on May 20, but this will now be postponed until June 10, with an early access start on June 5, Funcom announced on Tuesday.

Microsoft’s head of gaming, Phil Spencer, has reiterated his intention to support Nintendo Switch 2 with Xbox game franchises. Switch 2 was fully unveiled earlier this month. Although no Xbox games were present at the unveiling, Xbox is reportedly prepping multiple releases, including Diablo 4, Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and Microsoft Flight Simulator. Activision has also committed to releasing Call of Duty games on Switch 2.

A Minecraft Movie’s popularity at the global box office continued in its second weekend, with the Jack Black-helmed film clearing $550.6m worldwide. Of that figure, $269.6M was from outside the US, according to Deadline. Overall, A Minecraft Movie is tracking ahead of the likes of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (+229%), Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (+76%), Sonic 3 (+75%), and Pokémon: Detective Pikachu (+71%). Minecraft also appears to be ahead of The Super Mario Bros.

The Season 2 premiere of HBO’s The Last of Us series outpaced Season 1’s by 10% on Sunday, according to the network. The second season debuted this weekend, with the first episode being broadcast in the US on Sunday night. In the UK, the show was simulcast at 2 am on Monday on Sky Atlantic. In the US, the episode reached 5.3 million “same-day cross-platform viewers”, according to HBO (via Deadline), beating the 4.7 million of Season 1’s premiere.

4A Games has made the first-person shooter Metro 2033 free for 48 hours, to celebrate the series’ 15th anniversary. The 2010 FPS instalment will be free to download on Steam, GOG, and Xbox, for the next 48 hours, until April 16 at 5 PM CET / 9 AM PT. “Thank you for the years of passion and love you have shown us so far,” the studio said, alongside a celebratory video acknowledging its community of fans.

Nintendo Switch 2’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom ports look set to fix one of the two games’ most divisive features, via its mobile app connectivity. As part of its big Switch 2 reveal earlier this month, Nintendo announced that Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild will both get Switch 2 editions, as well as a new app, Zelda Notes, which will be part of the Nintendo App.

Early Nintendo Switch 2 players have already unearthed secrets in Mario Kart World, including a hovercraft and a new mechanic. Nintendo kicked off its Switch 2 Experience tour this week, allowing players in various cities around the world to play the console early. As captured by an X user who played Mario Kart World, a demoer showed off a hidden secret in the game: a hovercraft that can be controlled by the player. According to the demoer, other vehicles are hidden in the game.

Nintendo has published new images showing Switch 2’s redesigned Switch Online app. The app, which is accessible from the home menu, allows users to see its library of retro games, change settings, and view subscription status. Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will run at native 4K resolution with advanced ray tracing on PlayStation 5 Pro, developer Machine Games has confirmed. The news was shared on the PlayStation Blog, confirming that the PS5 Pro version of the Xbox game will have the best performance of any console version. On Xbox Series X, according to Digital Foundry, The Great Circle runs at 1800p on average, with dynamic resolution scaling.
