The first batch of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) could be available before next March with Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) implementing a co-processing method for its production. While IOC has tied up with LanzaJet to produce SAF using alcohol-to-jet technology, State oil marketing company is Parallelly working on more cost effective co-processing method to fast track the availability of SAF before introduction of government mandate.

Just last week, the Ladhani group (Coca-Cola’s largest bottler), which owns the Taj Hotel and Convention Centre in Agra, announced ₹3,000 crore investment to open more hotels. From 500 currently, it plans to have 1,500 rooms within three years, including two new resorts in Rishikesh in partnership with the Oberoi hotels group. It also plans to bring either a Ritz Carlton or Four Seasons to Agra.

SpiceJet is making steady progress in ungrounding its fleet, the airline has said as it continues to settle payment disputes with aircraft and engine lessors. “SpiceJet’s return to service programme is firmly on track. We are making steady progress ungrounding our fleet. We are working with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and maintenance repair and overhaul units (MRO) partners to restore B737 NG, B737 Max and Q400 aircraft,” an airline spokesperson said.
