    Nifty Bank opened today’s session lower at 50,910 versus yesterday’s close of 51,348. But it moved up after opening and is now at 51,440, up 0.2 per cent so far today. The advance/decline ratio is 7/5, a positive sign. AU Small Finance Bank is the top gainer by appreciating 3 per cent, whereas Federal Bank, down 0.85 per cent, is the top loser. Nifty PSU Bank has rallied 0.7 per cent whereas Nifty Private Bank has gained 0.15 per cent.

    Natural gas futures saw some recovery in price over the past week. After marking a low of ₹321.40 (per mmBtu) last week, the contract rose to mark a high of ₹363.80 early this week. That said, the chances of a decline below ₹321 has not faded away. Although this level can act as a support, natural gas futures can drop to ₹310, where it is expected to meet a rising trendline support. Just below this is the key base of ₹300.

    Pharma index surged over 4 per cent in early trade on Thursday after US President Donald Trump’s administration exempted pharmaceutical products from reciprocal tariffs. Market and industry experts see this as positive sign for Indian pharma companies. Only Nifty Pharma and healthcare traded in the positive territory among all sectoral indices. As at 10.06 am, Nifty pharma was up 3.18 per cent at 21,619.85 and Nifty midsmall healthcare index rose 1.93 per cent to 41,045.35.
