Clown In A Cornfield is a very fun teen slasher, but at its core, it also deals with deeper themes of what can happen when people feel overlooked or forgotten. As the big screen adaptation of Adam Cesare’s hit book series prepares to hit theaters this weekend, we sat down with Clown In A Cornfield director Eli Craig and stars Katie Douglas and Kevin Durand. Katie Douglas plays protagonist Quinn, a city girl who has just moved to the tiny town with her father, played by Aaron Abrams.

This week, we were treated to an advance screening of the Philippou brothers' sophomore feature, Bring Her Back, followed by a live stream Q&A with the directors. A word of advice: see this opening weekend before anyone can spoil it for you. The Talk To Me filmmakers' follow-up is an uncomfortably accurate portrayal of grief and love. The directing duo does not shy away from agonizingly heavy material.

Rosario director Felipe Vargas wanted to accurately portray the Palo Mayombe on screen. But he did draw the line at using actual human remains in the movie (good call!). Vargas' feature directorial debut follows Wall Street stockbroker, Rosario Fuentes (Emeraude Toubia), as she returns to her grandmother's apartment following a sudden death.

A quiet club sits nestled in a strip mall on an unassuming weekday afternoon. That is, until I open the doors and step from the sunny Southern California day into the darkness where a mad monster party awaits. As my eyes adjust, zombies roam around, chat amongst one another, and casually sip on sodas. A vampire walks by, and I also see a werewolf in the distance for good measure.

Netflix's upcoming Fear Street: Prom Queen is on the horizon, and we couldn't be more excited to travel back to Shadyside circa 1988. The previous installments transported us to 1994, 1978, and 1666, respectively. Based on R.L. Stine's wildly popular YA novel series, the world of Fear Street is rife with horrific storytelling opportunities. Prom Queen is a standalone story that takes us to a new decade with a new story and new characters.

BRING HER BACK: The Philippou brothers have once again knocked it out of the park with an uncomfortably accurate portrayal of grief and love. Heavy. Agonizing. Phenomenal. Grapefruit.

It’s rare for me to say this, but #bringherback left me with the need to stare at a wall for the rest of the night in absolute silence (complimentary). More insightful thoughts in the morning.
