The new legislative biennium began last Wednesday, and the first items of business included electing the House speaker, taking an oath of office, establishing our committees and hearing the governor’s inaugural address. We appreciate the speaker’s commitment to more bipartisan problem solving and saw it in action right away as most committees were set up with a Republican vice chair. The first portion of the session is typically devoted almost exclusively to working in our committees.
