    A recently published study analyzed 2013-2022 incidences of invasive group A Streptococcus (GAS) infections in 10 U.S. states. Infections trended higher in older adults aged over 65, American Indian or Alaska Native people, those living in long-term care, people who were experiencing homelessness, and those who inject drugs, according to the study. Additionally, “nonsusceptibility of isolates to macrolides and clindamycin increased substantially.” 21,312 cases were studied. Just under 10% died.

The aim of the program is to connect healthcare professionals to enhance quality of care and safety. The collaborative will serve as a support system, according to AHA’s website. Members will have the opportunity to participate in live events, access training videos, and exchange stories with other members.

    New findings from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center show that certain breast cancer patients may not need surgery. The findings come from five years of a Phase II trial that 50 women over 40 with early-stage triple-negative or HER2-positive breast cancer participated in.
