IntroductionChronic lung diseases, such as COPD and interstitial lung disease (ILD), are among the leading causes of disability and premature death worldwide [1]. Respiratory symptoms, predominantly breathlessness and cough, are widely reported by people with serious respiratory illness and adversely impact health-related quality of life (HRQoL) [2, 3]. Breathlessness may be insufficiently recognised [4] and under-treated [5].
