The sunset hit the same no matter which show we attended. The Sioux Falls Municipal Band returns May 17, celebrating Armed Forces Day as they've done since 1919 to commence the summer season.

The Premiere Playhouse will move from the Orpheum Theatre Center to the Rock Island Plow Building. The move will allow the theater to expand its offerings and become a community cultural hub. The 22nd annual SculptureWalk Sioux Falls exhibition is now installed downtown, always marking the beginning of the summer season. This year’s collection of 80 sculptures leans toward more contemporary, like aluminum work by Andrew Avanetes; steel from Tim Nelsen, Luke Achterberg and Sung-Hee Min; and solar-powered lights by Isaace Kidder. There's also classics and returning artists like Jason Richter, Cameron Stalheim and Steve Bormes.

Greg Carmon, Mike Huether, Robert A. Miller, Walter Schaefer, Jim Soyer, Sophie Two Hawk and Valentine McGillycuddy join the Hall of Fame as the class of 2025. The South Dakota Hall of Fame announced six inductees to join the class of 2025, all who hail from the Sioux Falls area. Alongside four others who will be announced in Rapid City next week, the honorees will be formally inducted Sept. 12-13 in Chamberlain during a public honor’s ceremony.
