The rate Earth is warming hit an all-time high in 2023 with 92% of last year's surprising record-shattering heat caused by humans, top scientists calculated. The group of 57 scientists from around the world used United Nations-approved methods to examine what's behind last year's deadly burst of heat. They said even with a faster warming rate they don't see evidence of significant acceleration in human-caused climate change beyond increased fossil fuel burning.

South Africa's African National Congress (ANC) has suggested forming a government of national unity after losing its parliamentary majority in last week's elections. It says it has reached out to all parties but negotiations are still underway. "The results indicate that the South Africans want all parties to work together," ANC spokesperson Mahlengi Bhengu-Motsiri told journalists.

If you live in Dhaka you will have to cross mains roads and sub roads as well many other kinds of roads where the motorized vehicular traffic load is high and cars and of course motorbikes all jostle with each other to move ahead. Since there is no such thing as traffic rules let alone etiquette, most just want to go ahead, come what may. One can safely wonder if they can manage the path ahead safely as well but then it's a philosophical question.

The various conflicts we are witnessing, particularly with regard to Palestine and Ukraine, seem to divide the world, most of the times in lines with the 'developed north' and the 'developing South', though not always.
