Discovery School students Bentley Bergsten and Boston Barnes work on a robot. About three years ago, the Tennessee Valley Robotics helped seven Murfreesboro City Schools get robots and materials to compete in VEX Robotics Competitions. According to its website, the VEX Robotics competitions are a place for STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) students to further their interest in those topics.

Lebanon Special School District has Parent Responsibility Zones which affect bus transportation for students and LSSD Director Brian Hutto said he working on a proposal to expand the area for some schools. There is no bus transportation in the zone; instead, the parent is responsible to get their student to school either by car or walking or riding a bicycle.

Wilson County Schools will take $12 million in restricted funds out of its fund balance to balance the 2025-2026 budget. The $330.1 million budget was unanimously approved at a special-called meeting on May 15. The Wilson County Commission will discuss the WCS budget at its May or June meeting for approval.
