NECC specimens comprising both paired paracancerous tissues and tumor samples were retrieved from East China Normal University Wuhu Affiliated Hospital (The Second People’s Hospital of Wuhu City). The paracancerous speimens were retrieved from a distance of more than 2 centimeters from the cancer edge according to previous research [14].

This study recruited students from four schools, including two junior high schools and two senior high schools, located in the local area. The schools were selected through a random sampling method to ensure representativeness of the sample. A total of 1067 students participated in the study. After the removal of extreme values (those exceeding 3 standard deviations), 806 questionnaires were retained for subsequent data analysis.

AbstractAs biomarkers of cancer, the accurate and sensitive detection of microRNAs is of great significance. Therefore, we proposed a surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS)/electrochemical (EC) dual-mode nanosensor for sensitively detecting miRNA-141. The nanosensor uses Au@Ag nanowires as a novel SERS/EC sensing platform, which has the advantages of good biocompatibility, fast response, and high sensitivity.

AbstractSARS-CoV-2 entry into host cells is facilitated by the interaction between the receptor binding domain of its spike protein (CoV2-RBD) and host cell receptor, ACE2, promoting viral membrane fusion. The virus also uses endocytic pathways for entry, but the mediating host factors remain largely unknown. It is also unknown whether mutations in the RBD of SARS-CoV-2 variants promote interactions with additional host factors to promote viral entry.

Photocages, also known as photoactivated protective groups (PPGs), have been utilized to achieve controlled release of target molecules in a non-invasive and spatiotemporal manner. In the past decade, BODIPY fluorophores, a well-established class of fluorescent dyes, have emerged as a novel type of photoactivated protective group capable of efficiently releasing cargo species upon irradiation.

Since the discovery of 51 Peg b (Mayor & Queloz 1995), the investigation into the origins of hot Jupiters (with orbital periods P ≤ 10 d and masses m ≥ 0.25 M ) has remained a prominent focus within the field of exoplanet science. The occurrence of hot Jupiters is relatively rare around sun-like stars. Only about 1 per cent of sun-like stars are found to host hot Jupiters (Weldrake, Sackett & Bridges 2008; Mayor et al. 2011; Howard et al. 2012; Wright et al. 2012; Beleznay & Kunimoto 2022).

AbstractPopulation exposure is a dominant representation of rainstorm hazard risks. However, the refined precipitation data in temporal resolution and the comparison of exposure to different rainstorm events remain relatively unexplored. Hourly precipitation data from 165 meteorological stations w used to investigate the spatiotemporal evolution of population exposure to different rainstorm scenarios in the prefecture-level cities for different periods and age groups.
