In this study, we evaluated the association between functional network topography and individual differences in three SES factors, including family income measured by income-to-needs ratio (INR), parental education, and neighborhood disadvantage measured by area deprivation index (ADI). We first delineated personalized functional networks for each child using resting-state fMRI data.

The study aimed to explore spoken language and executive function (EF) characteristics in 3–5-year-old prelingually deaf and hard-of-hearing (DHH) children, and evaluate the impact of demographic variables and EF on spoken language skills. 48 DHH children and 48 typically developing children who use auditory-oral communication were recruited.

Transposable elements (TEs) are ubiquitous in the eukaryote genomes, but their evolutionary and functional significance remains largely obscure and contentious. Here, we explore the evolution and functional impact of TEs in two model unicellular eukaryotes, the fission yeast Schizosaccharomyces pombe and the budding yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which diverged around 330-420 million years ago.

This study was a joint project with the government to investigate children’s mental health in Harbin, China, during COVID-19. The teacher distributed a link to an electronic questionnaire to the students, who voluntarily completed the questionnaire. The data from 35 middle and high schools located in Harbin was collected in the current study. The initial data was gathered in February 2022 from 10,104 students, utilizing an online questionnaire program (https://www.wjx.cn) on their smartphones.

It has been documented that caspase 3 activity is necessary for skeletal muscle regeneration, but how its activity is regulated is largely unknown. Our previous report shows that intracellular TMEM16A, a calcium activated chloride channel, significantly regulates caspase 3 activity in myoblasts during skeletal muscle development.

Guangzhou, one of the first-tier cities in China, is located in the southeast of China. With the increase in urbanization (urbanization rate was 86.48% in 2022) and population aging (the proportion of aged 60 and above population aging is 18.86% in 2022) in Guangzhou, a substantial proportion of the megacity’s aging population is exposed to climate change threats and their adverse effects. A face-to-face survey was implemented in Guangzhou from December 2018 to April 2019.

We have investigated the qssq¯q (q=u or d) system to find possible pentaquark explanations for the Ξ resonances. The bound state calculation is carried out within the framework of the quark delocalization color screening model. The scattering processes are also studied to examine the possible resonance states. The current results indicate that the Ξ(1950) state can be interpreted as a ΛK¯* state with JP=1/2−.
