Kathmandu, April 19 -- As the government is set to appoint a new governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, a supplementary writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on Friday to prevent Gunakar Bhatta's potential appointment to the post. Bhatta, who served as executive director of the central bank until Friday, has emerged as a frontrunner for the top post.

Kathmandu, April 17 -- Amid growing public discontent with the government and a widening rift between the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML, top leaders of the two ruling parties on Wednesday tried to dispel the "rumours". Speaking after a meeting of the political mechanism involving the two parties on Wednesday, the leaders said that relations between the coalition partners remain intact and cordial.

April 14, 2025KATHMANDU – A decade after signing the Motor Vehicles Agreement (MVA) for the regulation of passenger, personal and cargo vehicular traffic between Bangladesh, Bhutan, India and Nepal (BBIN), the four South Asian nations have finalised the text of protocol to ensure smooth transport. The protocol is the first of its kind in South Asia. Besides the motor vehicle agreement, the BBIN countries also envisage interconnected grids for regional energy security.
