1 INTRODUCTION The cancer-associated cachexia syndrome (CACS) is a frequently occurring adverse effect of lung cancer, and independently predicts poor quality of life, reduced anticancer treatment tolerance, and reduced life expectancy in patients.1, 2 CACS is characterized by loss of adipose and muscle tissue.
