    I would ask my mom, "How was your week?" "Kinda boring," was her answer. Before disease, my mom was a productive person with many social and creative pursuits. Her health condition severely reduced her world. She struggles with these increasing limitations. As I reflect, I think I was asking the wrong question. We tend to say, "What a bad day!" Or "What a brutal week." But we cannot afford to give so much time away - time we aren't living, time we aren't noticing good.

    Lots of comfort food starts with a crust, and we used one recipe to create in several ways. Try this simple crust recipe that is perfect for creating delicious mini pies and quiches. Butter Crust * 1¼ cups flour* 1 stick salted butter* ¼ cup chilled waterPut flour in cold bowl. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the cold water slowly, mixing in with a fork. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
