I know firsthand that many things in HISD are broken. I truly believe we’ve been lying to many students and their parents about what they are getting from our schools when we hand them diplomas after spending up to 13 or even 14 years in our classrooms.

Identification of a bipotent glial progenitor cellWithin our scRNA-seq data, we identified a cluster of cells that expressed transcripts for genes characteristic of both astrocyte (GFAP, SLC1A3, HEPACAM, and AQP4) as well as oligodendrocyte (OLIG1 and OLIG2) lineages (Figures 4A and S4A), leading us to hypothesize that the cluster is a putative bipotent glial progenitor cell (GPC).
