    According to a city update, maintenance on the west Fitness Centre parking lot—originally set for June 25—will now start July 2. The project is still expected to wrap up by Aug. 10. The affected area includes parking from the Arena entrance to the Aquatics entrance, including the Fitness Centre entrance, Aquatics drop-off area, and accessible stalls. Work will be phased to limit the number of stalls impacted at one time, but intermittent closures are expected.

    If you're in Airdrie and thinking of heading into Calgary for a day on the river, officials say now is not the time. High water levels have triggered a boating advisory on the Bow River, and the Calgary Fire Department is warning residents to stay off the water. “Following this weekend’s rain event, the Bow River has exceeded recommended safe flow rates for boating or swimming,” the department said in a statement Sunday.
