Satisfaction with public engagement opportunities in Rocky View County increased by 13 percentage points compared to last year, according to the 2025 Citizen Satisfaction Pulse Survey. Leger Canada completed 350 telephone interviews between February 12 and 19. The survey found that 55 per cent of residents were satisfied with public engagement opportunities, up from 42 per cent in 2024 and 33 per cent in 2022. The report identifies the increase as statistically significant.

Advance polls close at 9 p.m. tonight in Airdrie–Cochrane — but early voting continues at Elections Canada offices until Tuesday. Voters heading to the advance polls tonight must go to their assigned polling station. The address is printed on the voter information card mailed by Elections Canada. You don’t need to bring the card, but accepted ID is required. To vote, you must be a Canadian citizen and at least 18 years old on election day.

The Town of Olds will reopen its Residential Branch Dump on May 1 and, for the first time, pilot a separate grass clippings area during the months of May and October. The site, located at the Operations Centre on the town's west side, gives residents a local drop-off point for yard waste including branches, small trees, shrubs and leaves — and, during the pilot months, grass clippings.

Another successful "Ride of the Mustang" has concluded for George McDougall High School, fundraising over $52,000. "Ride of the Mustang" is an annual fundraiser where teams of students gather in the gym and ride stationary bikes over three days. In 2011, a student from the high school was diagnosed with cancer, which inspired the very first event. Once again, all funds raised this year went towards the Alberta Children's Hospital for cancer research.
