    BODYBAR Pilates, a fitness franchise offering reformer pilates workouts, is set to open in Morgantown at the end of July. Classes will utilize 14 “reformer” machines and standard “Joseph Pilates,” according to owner and studio manager Tonya Keener-Blasco. Joseph Pilates was the creator of pilates, which is a low-impact form of movement that centers around posture, flexibility and core strength, Keener-Blasco said.

    Spring is in full bloom, offering many opportunities to decompress and recharge before finals week. This weekend, The DA recommends a spring craft show, a one-pot cooking class and a dodgeball tournament. The Mylan Park Spring Show will take place from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at Ruby Community Center at 500 Mylan Park Lane.     Morgantown residents voted against the repeal of an encampment ban that prohibits camping, lodging and sleeping on public property in the Morgantown municipal election on April 29. The ban was first proposed during a city council meeting in July of 2024 and was passed by the Morgantown City Council on Sept. 3, 2024, with a 4-3 vote. Following its passage, community members submitted a referendum petition to overturn the ordinance, containing signatures from local residents.

    My mother always said I should be a news anchor. As a child, I would hop off the school bus and recount the day’s gossip as soon as my feet hit the driveway gravel: who broke up with whom, who got in trouble, who threw up in art class, among other things. I held onto this curiosity and love for a good story my whole life. I have always loved to disappear into fictional lands.     WVU confirmed the reversal of the termination of nine students’ Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) records Monday, according to Shauna Johnson, executive director of strategic communications. WVU confirmed the revocation of nine student visa revocations and the termination of their SEVIS records on April 15. All cases used “name found in criminal records check” as justification, according to Johnson.
