Daily Athenaeum
The Daily Athenaeum serves as the student newspaper for West Virginia University. Established in 1887, it invites contributions from students across all fields to create unique articles for its readership. The newspaper operates independently from the university and does not have a faculty advisor guiding its editorial decisions. Copies of The DA can be found in various spots on campus and in local restaurants and businesses in Morgantown. Additionally, its content is accessible online through its official website. With a circulation approaching 15,000, The Daily Athenaeum ranks as the 9th-largest newspaper in West Virginia. Stories covering news, sports, and special features from The DA have frequently been picked up by numerous national newspapers and major news networks.
