    A Waukesha County 4K student was struck by a school bus and killed in the parking lot of a Lisbon school Thursday morning. The bus had been carrying an undisclosed number of students when it hit the student in the parking lot of Silver Spring Intermediate School around 8:37 a.m., according to a statement from Waukesha County sheriff’s Lt.     Beloit Police released the name of the man fatally shot last week. Gregory Ashford, 32, was killed in a Dec. 26 shooting in the 1200 block of Oak Street, which police responded to at 7:38 p.m. An unnamed woman also was wounded in the incident, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening, according to Beloit spokesperson Sarah Lock.

    A driver crashed into a Madison laundromat on Christmas Day afternoon. The driver told officers that they'd mistakenly hit the gas pedal rather than the brakes while pulling into the parking lot, according to a statement from Officer Korrie Rondorf.

    The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ seventh managed elk hunt was a success, officials say. Between Oct. 12 and Dec. 20, eight designated hunters took down 11 bull elk in the Northern and Central Elk Zones, in addition to Ojibwe Tribal Elk Zone hunters, according to a statement from the DNR. The hunters were randomly selected from a pool of more than 25,000 applicants.
