Dane County property owners whose deeds may still contain racial covenants can get help removing the restrictive clauses from their property records at an event Tuesday. Hosted by Dane County Executive Melissa Agard, the event at the Exhibition Hall at the Alliant Energy Center, titled Prejudice in Places, aims to educate homeowners about the history of the now-unenforceable covenants and guide them through the process of formally removing them under Wisconsin law.

Voters in Tuesday’s special election for District 1 Dane County Board supervisor will use new voting technology. Electronic poll books, called Badger Books, are being used at hundreds of locations across Wisconsin, and now these Madison voters will get to see what they think in a trial run of the technology. Badger Books mean a new high-tech sign-in and voter verification experience and will help election workers in a number of ways.

Thousands marched through Downtown Madison on Saturday in a protest against the Trump administration that culminated in a rally at the state Capitol with multiple high-profile speakers.
