GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) — Grace Kim broke away late Saturday afternoon at Blythefield Country Club, birdieing four of the final six holes to take a five-stroke lead into the final round of the Meijer LPGA Classic. Tied for the second-round lead with Ally Ewing, Kim shot a 6-under 66 to get to 17-under 199. The 23-year-old Australian won in a playoff last year in Hawaii for her lone LPGA Tour title. She lost a large lead in April in Los Angeles in the JM Eagle LA Championship.

After over four inches of rain in Naples, Fla. on Wednesday, the first round of play at the CME Group Tour Championship saw softer fairways and shortened holes and concluded with two of the LPGA Tour’s best atop the leaderboard. Six-time LPGA Tour winner Nasa Hataoka and two-time 2023 winner Ruoning Yin wrapped opening round play at Tiburón Golf Club with 9-under, 63s, just one birdie away from tying the 18-hole scoring record of 62 set by Lydia Ko in 2016.

NAPLES, Fla. — Nine-time LPGA Tour winner Anna Nordqvist is near the top of the leaderboard at the CME Group Tour Championship after opening her week at Tiburón Golf Club with a 7-under 65 that saw her make one bogey and eight birdies. Nordqvist got off to a hot start, making four birdies in her first seven holes, including a pair of back-to-back birdies on holes 6 and 7 to turn in 32.

Fifteen-time LPGA Tour winner Jin Young Ko has set the new record for most career weeks spent at No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings. Monday, June 26 marks her 159th week in the top spot, surpassing the previous 158-week benchmark set by Lorena Ochoa in 2010. The Republic of Korea native ascended to No. 1 for the fifth time in her LPGA Tour career following her win at the Cognizant Founders Cup on May 14.

Sitting at an unwieldly 6-over, Anna Nordqvist needed a birdie to play the weekend at the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship. Though it took her a whopping 35 putts to get around the Lower Course at Baltusrol Golf Club on Friday, she found the birdie she needed on the 7th green and managed to get up and down on the par-3, 9th hole to finish at 5-over and make the cut on the number. It was also what Nordqvist needed to get her game back on track.

The day began with Ireland's Leona Maguire leading the way at 7-under, but Jenny Shin quickly added her name to the conversation, making birdie on the first after an unbelievable second shot from the trees that she hit to three feet to tie the lead.
