    I’ve been awash in forthcoming books.     The idea of Britishness is today largely understood as a concept that sits within the borders of the United Kingdom. However, in Multiracial Britishness: Global Networks in Hong Kong, 1910–45, Dr Vivian Kong, a senior lecturer in modern Chinese history and co-director of Hong Kong History Centre at the University of Bristol, UK, disrupts this contemporary concept of Britishness. She explores the colonial past – and present – of Hong Kong and asks what being British means.
