ShareSLOAN, Iowa (KTIV) - According to the Iowa Department of Transportation, those who travel or plan to travel on Interstate 29 near Sloan should be aware of an upcoming ramp closure. Exit 127 at Sloan, Iowa on I-29 will be undergoing a ramp paving project that could slow down your trip. The southbound on-ramp and the northbound off-ramp at Iowa 141 (exit 127) at Sloan will be closed beginning at noon on Monday, Oct. 21. The ramps will reopen at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, weather permitting.

SIOUX CITY (KTIV) - Strong winds from Tuesday's early morning storm left about 9,000 people without power in Sioux City, according to MidAmerican Energy. As of 10:10 a.m. Tuesday, over 1,000 people in Sioux City and the surrounding area are still without power with MidAmerican Energy saying some homes may not get power back until Wednesday morning. The storm caused these power outages with toppled trees and falling branches taking down powerlines throughout the night and into the early morning.

HULL, Iowa (KTIV) - After several years of not having a grocery store, Hull is now home to its own Fareway Meat & Grocery. The beeping of a cashier’s register is a sweet sound to customers who are picking up groceries just minutes away from home. KTIV asked one woman in the produce section about how long she had to drive to get groceries previously, she said, “About eight miles 10 miles sometimes.”In hull, this week marks the opening of Fareway after being a ‘grocery store desert’.
