A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Clement Onwuenwunor, yesterday faulted claims by music star Peter Okoye of P-Square in his statement to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Justice Sherifat Sonaike yesterday sentenced Andrew Nice Ominikoron to death by hanging after the Lagos State High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square annex, found the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) driver guilty of the murder of 22-year-old Ayanwola Bamise and the sexual assault on Dr. Victoria Anosike. Ominikoron was arraigned on a five-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit felony, rape, murder, and sexual assault.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has brought two Chinese, Huang Haoyu and An Hongxu, with a Nigerian, Audu Friday, before Justice Daniel Osiagor of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos. The defendants are facing an 11-count charge brought by the agency involving cyber-terrorism, computer-related offenses, and money laundering amounting to N3,407,824,740.78 and $2,562,203.

The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the final forfeiture of $4.7 million, N830 million, and multiple properties linked to former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele. Delivering judgment on Friday, Justice Yellim Bogoro granted the forfeiture request filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), represented by counsel Bilkisu Buhari-Bala. This ruling followed the court’s earlier dismissal of an application seeking to halt the judgment.
