The Police Service Commission (PSC) has said it is concluding arrangements for the recruitment of Cadets and Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) for this year. PSC Chairman Hashimu Argungu, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), led the commission’s management delegation on a visit to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) in Abuja. During the visit, the PSC chairman sought NDPC’s partnership and cooperation for this year’s police recruitment.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has attributed the current water shortage in Abuja city centre and surrounding satellite towns to ongoing rehabilitation work on two of the four main water treatment plants serving the area. In a statement released on Sunday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the Minister said water supply will be rationed over the next two weeks while the rehabilitation continues.

The Force Headquarters has kept silent over an alleged suit filed against retired top police officers. There were reports that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun filed a 14-count criminal charge against several retired senior police officers, including former Assistant Inspector-General (AIG) Idowu Owohunwa, former Commissioners of Police Benneth Igweh and Ukachi Peter Opara over alleged age falsification and forgery.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Response Team has arrested Prince Bassey Ajah, the pastor and General Overseer (Daddy G.O.) of “Wells of Salvation” Church located in Byazhin Across. The pastor handed over a seven-year-old boy to his younger brother, Israel Ajah who was arrested while attempting to board a vehicle to Owerri, Imo State, with the boy in his custody. The Pastor was promptly arrested with two other accomplices Nancy Atoo and Deaconess Vera Duru.
