Australia's Information Commissioner has launched a new "statistics dashboard" which aims to improve public access to data about the country's Freedom of Information System. The new tools coincide with the launch of a survey that shows how individual government agencies and departments approach FOI requests, in the hope of improving the system overall.

The family of artist Pablo Picasso has chosen not to take action against Tasmania's Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) after sending it a letter challenging its exhibition of several fake paintings that were falsely portrayed as Picassos. MONA's curator, Kirsha Kaechele, an artist herself, has apologised to the Picasso Administrator in an online blog, in which she admitted three paintings at MONA in Hobart were copies of Picasso's work, that she created herself.
