5 hours agoDisney Abu Dhabi: First look at new theme park and resortDisney has announced plans for a theme park in Abu Dhabi, its first in the Middle East. The resort, a collaboration between Walt Disney and local company Miral, will be on Yas Island in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Upon completion, the theme park will offer "signature Disney entertainment, themed accommodations, and unique dining and retail experiences," Disney said in an announcement.

I’ve taken my kids to Disney, Yellowstone and even London, and there’s one underlying truth I’ve learned about having a successful family trip: Sometimes, the less planning involved, the better. Kids, especially those 12 and under, don’t need much to keep them happy and occupied while on vacation—that is, if you leave them to their own devices, give them space to (safely) explore and put them around other kids their own age.

I only went to Disney World once as a kid, when I was 6 years old, but I still remember so much about that one trip. I fondly recall loving It’s a Small World so much that I begged my mom to take me again—and how delighted I was when she did. And I remember having the pants scared off me when the doors to the Haunted Mansion closed, then realizing the ride is two parts funny to one part spooky.
