Minneapolis man charged with repeated rape of Fillmore County child

(ABC 6 News) – A Minneapolis man with a history of child sexual assault faces eight new Fillmore County charges. In 2009, Kyle Anthony Mancuso was convicted of 2nd-degree criminal sexual conduct with an Olmsted County child under age 13. Mancuso was sentenced to 120 days in the Olmsted County jail, as well as 25 years on supervised probation. In 2013, he violated his probation and was re-sentenced to 33 months at the MN Correctional Facility in St. Cloud, according to court documents.

(ABC 6 News) – Grand Meadow Public School dismissed students at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9. The school’s Facebook page cited a power outage in the area, which affected the school. ABC 6 News has reached out for more information. The Freeborn-Mower Electrical Cooperative outage map shows affected customers in Grand Meadow, Frankford, Marshall and Bennington.

(ABC 6 News) – Two dog breeders accused of animal mistreatment got a reprieve this week. As of Tuesday, April 8, two new documents were publicly entered in Anderson Farm owners Donald Norval Anderson and Elham Alayyoub’s cases — continuances for dismissal. According to the new filings, the case will be paused for 8 months — during which the Fillmore County Sheriff’s Office will inspect the Anderson Farms property after 3 months have elapsed, then after 6 months.
Rochester man arrested at hospital on assault, burglary charges

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man faces burglary, assault, and false imprisonment charges after a series of incidents in late March. Christopher Coleman, 39, was previously arrested on 2nd-degree assault and felon in possession of firearm charges after a 2024 shooting in SE Rochester. Coleman appeared in court Tuesday, April 8, on the following new felony charges: 1st-degree burglary–assault; terroristic threats; false imprisonment–intentional restraint.
Rochester man sentenced to 21 years, $106K restitution for production of child pornography

(ABC 6 News) – A Rochester man received a sentence of 252 months, or 21 years, after pleading guilty to production of child pornography in federal court. Kevyn Bradley Heath appeared in federal court Monday, March 24. He received 10 years’ supervised release, to be served after his prison sentence, according to court documents.

Walz in Rochester for Townhall(ABC 6 News) – 1,500 People spilled inside the auditorium at John Marshall High School in Rochester awaiting to see Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz speak at a town hall. One by one people took turns asking the governor their questions. A wide variety of topics were covered tanging from education to veterans affairs and LGBTQ+ rights. However, lots of people voiced their objection to Elon Musk’s involvement in the federal government.

One thousand, five hundred Rochester-area residents filled the JM auditorium, as well as an overflow area, according to organizers. The town hall was scheduled to run from 9:30 a.m. to noon.

Registrants may enter questions for the Governor online ahead of the event. Man sentenced to 19.5 years in car-into-crowd killing

(ABC 6 News) – (ABC 6 News) – Dylan Robert Simmons was sentenced to 234 months (19.5 years) in the death of Darisha Bailey-Vath Thursday, March 20. Simmons was convicted of 2nd-degree murder without intent, criminal vehicular homicide, and three counts of 2nd-degree assault with a dangerous weapon– his car — after driving the vehicle into a crowd of people after a Forest Lake fight. Darish Bailey-Vath / Submitted by familyBailey-Vath, a 17-year-old Rochester native, died.
