People who have been vaccinated against shingles have a 23% lower risk of cardiovascular conditions — with the risk for heart attacks being 22% lower and heart failure 26% lower, according to a large study from South Korea. Importantly, the protective effect of the vaccine lasts for eight years, with the greatest reduction in risks observed between 2 and 3 years after vaccination. The study is based on the insurance data of over 1.2 million people, followed up for six years on average.

“The Axiom-4 mission is expected to go up in the first week of June. The final date is not yet finalised. This mission will provide first hand experience to our astronauts to work in the space environment, perform experiments, collaborate with others. All this is going to feed into our own Gaganyaan programme. Our key goal right now is to successfully carry out the Gaganyaan mission.

The first uncrewed mission of the Gaganyaan programme would be launched in the last quarter of this year, chairman of the India Space Research Organisation (Isro) V Narayanan said Tuesday. Gaganyaan, India’s first attempt to put humans into space, involves three uncrewed missions before the astronauts are flown to an orbit of 400 km for one to three days. The crewed mission is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2027, Narayanan said.
