Aussies – particularly younger generations – are being warned to plan ahead for Christmas to avoid ending up in insurmountable credit card debt, with more than 800,000 still trying to pay off their bills from last festive season. Last year almost two in five Australians racked up debt over the holiday period, with that figure jumping to 55 per cent for Gen Zs and 43 per cent for millenials, according to research by financial comparison site finder.com.au.
