Police are investigating a shooting Sunday night that sent a man to the hospital after he was on the roadway seeking help. The shooting happened at 10:04 p.m. near Chestnut and Geary avenues. Officers arrived and found a man in his 30s who was calling for help while in the roadway with gunshot wounds to his upper body, Fresno police Lt. Leslie Williams said. The man was taken to a local hospital where his condition is listed as stable.

A man is in the hospital Sunday after he was hit by gunfire in Fresno. Officers responded to Belmont Avenue and First Street and found a man who was struck in the upper body outside of Smooth Smoke Shop around 7:15 p.m.Fresno police Lt. Leslie Williams said the victim was shot at least once. He was taken to a local hospital where his status is unknown. The suspect fled eastbound from the area, Williams said. Police learned the victim and suspect had a prior interaction two days ago.

A bicyclist was killed Sunday after he was struck by a vehicle in a hit-and-run collision in Fresno. Officers responded to the crash just before 6 p.m. at Belmont Avenue and Thesta Street and found the victim lying in the roadway with serious injuries, Fresno police Lt. Leslie Williams said. The bicyclist, who is in his 30s, was taken to Community Regional Medical Center where he died. Williams said a black sedan fled the area after the collision.
