High school softball players came out Wednesday for one final time in their jersey's to play in the City/County All-Star game. Fans were treated to a back-and-forth game, capped by a walk-off in the 10th inning, won by the County 8-7 at Margie Wright Diamond at Fresno State. Ali Fierro of Clovis East led the County with three RBI. Alexis Alvarado of Fowler drove in two runs.

A man was killed in a shooting early Friday morning at an apartment complex in Fresno. A three-round ShotSpotter electronic activation sent officers to South Plumas Street and East Lorena Avenue just after 2 a.m.They found 27-year-old Julian Garcia unresponsive with a wound to the upper body. He was taken to a local hospital where he died. Homicide detectives learned Garcia and another unknown man were involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot before it turned into a fight.

A man who was reported missing almost two weeks ago from northeast Clovis was found dead Tuesday, police said. The Clovis Police Department said the body of 50-year-old Mark Kismet was discovered in a wooded area near Shepherd and DeWolf avenues. Police said there are no signs of foul play. Deputies with the Fresno County Sheriff's Office investigated the scene. Kismet was last seen walking in the Harlan Ranch neighborhood at 1:30 p.m. on June 6.
