It’s thanks to Dress Up 203, an initiative run by nine local moms who wanted to ensure that every teen could experience the glamor of prom night. “They’ll be able to pick three dresses at the beginning to go back into our fitting rooms on the way back, and they’ll try on the dresses.

URBANA– A majority of Urbana voters backed an advisory referendum asking whether the U.S. should end its military funding for Israel. Residents petitioned to get the measure on the Cunningham Township ballot earlier this year in response to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. Based on unofficial results from the Champaign County Clerk’s office, around 70% of the city electorate voted “Yes” on the question.

URBANA – Yafa Issa is the first University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign student to be charged for participating in pro-Palestine demonstrations on campus at the end of the 2024 school year. Issa, 18, was arraigned at the Champaign County Circuit Court on Tuesday. She faces up to three years in prison if she is found guilty of the Class 4 felony of mob action.
